Start packing early !!!
Start collecting boxes from your local supermarket or contact us , We deliver boxes alternatively contact your chosen furniture removal company. Just order quickly so you can start packing the items that you use less frequently like paraphernalia which you won't be using in the time leading up to the move date.
How to Prepare your boxes for moving.
Reinforce the bottom of every box with packing tape, then line the box with crushed packing paper for extra cushion. Use more paper as ‘filler’ to eliminate empty spaces.
Make the most of each box. The less space your items have to move around in the box, the lower the chance of damage, so pack as much as you can into each box.
Label boxes well so your moving company knows where to place it at your removal destination.
Pack each room in separate boxes and clearly mark the box with the contents and what room it’s destined for.
Pack heavy items in small boxes. Overweight boxes can break and cost you breakages and the movers time trying to repack the goods. Distribute the weight of the boxes with different types weight intensity's, In other words mix a box of books with teddys, cushions or linen etc
Disassembling and Reassembling of Furniture
Disassemble as many items as you can. Remove feet or legs from furniture, take lampshades off of the base, etc. This makes it much easier to load your items into the moving container. You can always ask your local or chosen Furniture Removal Company to quote or help yu with items that are going to need to be disassembled.
Pack valuables and essentials separately. Jewelry, medications, daily toiletries and important documents are items we recommend that you keep with you during the move. Keep valuable or sentimental jewelry with you as you travel to your new home.

How to Pack for Moving: Room by Room
Check out these packing tips to make boxing up your home (and the specific items you typically find in each room) easy and efficient.
How to Pack Kitchen Items
Use the original boxes for small appliances like a microwave or toaster (if you have them). Or, follow these detailed steps to pack small appliances safely.
Wrap breakables in packing paper, foam wrap, or Bubble Wrap® for much-needed protection. Pot holders and dish towels can also double as extra cushioning.
How to Pack Up Your Bedroom and Bathroom
Put shoes in the bottom of your boxes, never put fragile items at the bottom of your box. Pack your seldom used clothed over them. Your clothes should be used as fillers for boxes that have more fragile items to soften and lighten the box load. Pack toys in boxes and use your clothes and linen as fillers to tighten the contents to avoid goods moving around in the box whilst in transit.
Packing your Living Room Furniture and Decor
Wrap pictures and mirrors frames with corrugated cardboard or bubble wrap to ensure the frames don't get scratched. Your local moving company in Jhb will know how to handle from there using blankets and special care when packing the fragile items in the truck.
Wrap individual home display ornaments & pieces with bubble wrap and mark as fragile so the movers can take extra care.
Use the nesting method for lamp shades and pack several in a box at once, or use specialty lamp boxes for taller lamps. Alternatively ask your mover to handle specifically on local moves and have at least bubble wrap for long distance.
Use the original box to pack your computer, printer, or other electronics if you have them. Alternatively ask your local moving company to bubble wrap or box them especially for long distance removals. Ensure that you transport your own gas bottles as these items are not allowed on the truck for obvious reasons which includes insurance companies that refuse to cover your goods whilst there are gas bottles within your furniture load. Drain all petrol from lawn mowers and scooters etc.Bundle garden tools together for easy handling.
Packing and Transporting Pot plants
Transporting plants can become extremely difficult to transport and can easily get damaged in transit if not packed proper. If you have to transport pots perhaps consider which are most important to you and start packing from there. If a pot plant is physically too heavy for one person to lift consider planting it in the garden for the next person to enjoy or donate a plant to a friend. You can also consider transporting them yourself, this way you have more control over how it will be transported. Stabilize plants that have hanging leaves or are larger in size with a stake. Place a couple of plants in a open Box or Crate. Make sure you secure the pots with bubble wrap in the spaces between the pots so they don't move around and stay upright.
